ABOUT US
The Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department is proud to serve the residents of Ivanhoe, Hillister, and the surrounding communities with dedication, professionalism, and heart. Our department is made up of trained volunteer firefighters who answer the call day or night, responding to emergencies, protecting property, and providing support when it’s needed most.
With our primary station located in Ivanhoe and a second station in Hillister, TX, we are able to improve response times and coverage across a broader rural area. This added location strengthens our ability to reach our community quickly and effectively during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
We are more than a fire department — we are a family. We train together, support one another, and take pride in serving our neighbors. Our volunteers are committed to ongoing training, safety, and community engagement, whether we’re responding to a call, educating residents on fire safety, or participating in local events.
The Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department is honored to serve and protect, and we thank our community for their continued support.

What does firefighting mean to me?
What firefighting means to me: Service to my community.
We are teaching our kids to help the community during the hard times.
It’s about showing up on someone’s worst day and doing everything I can to help. It teaches teamwork, builds trust, and pushes me to grow stronger in every way.
Volunteer firefighting is more than just answering calls; it’s about service, sacrifice, and standing up for our community. I also love enjoying the company of the public while fundraising.
